Causes I'm Passionate About
I think it is important to find causes you are passionate about, it is always important to give back to the community and contribute time towards helping others.

I joined She's The First my Freshman year of college and really love what we do and how we help others. She's the First is a non-profit organization centered around fundraising and raising awarness for girls education in developing countries. We host an annual cupcake fundraiser every fall that brings in around $1,000. All the proceeds we make go towards a girls scholarship so that she is able to get the education she deserves.

Last summer I volunteered my time to work as a marketing intern for The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing. The center is a wondereful resource for those who have been affected by cancer and provides services for free. The center hosts an annual walk/run/cycle fundraiser every year that helps pay for the services and treatments. The center is a cause that I am passionate about because almost everyone has been affected by cancer, including my sister so it is a nice place to turn to for support.

The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society is a local shelter that takes in stray animals and helps them get adopted. I volunteered at the shelter for over 2 years helping clean the cages, socialize the animals and help with adoptions. The mission is to get all the animals adopted into loving homes. It is important to get people to adopt rather than buy from a breeder.
